The home employs one Registered Manager and 31 Care Assistants, some of whom are Senior Carers, 2 cooks, 3 housekeepers and 2 activities organisers 5 days per week. We are aware that the home’s staff will always play a very important role in residents’ welfare. To maximise this contribution, we will do the following.
- Employ staff in sufficient numbers and with the relevant mix of skills to meet resident’s needs.
- Observe recruitment policies and practices, which both respect equal opportunities and protect resident’s safety and welfare.
- Offer our staff a range of training, which is relevant to their induction, foundation experience and further development.
All staff will complete an induction that is in line with the social care induction programme set by the care council for Wales.
The home insists that all Care Assistants hold a minimum of NVQ level 2 in Care or are prepared to work toward this achievement.
The home will also ensure that all staff receives training on such topics as Food Hygiene, Lifting and Handling, Care of the Elderly, First Aid, Drugs Practice etc.
